Belarus-Iran cooperation viewed as promising

MINSK, 13 July (BelTA) – Belarus and Iran have everything in place to expand cooperation, Abolfazl Amouei, head of the Iranian parliamentary delegation, chairman of Iran-Belarus parliamentary friendship group, told reporters following his meeting with Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives of the Belarusian National Assembly Valery Mitskevich, BelTA has learned.

“Today we have got a very good opportunity to visit the parliament of Belarus and to discuss a broad range of issues on our cooperation agenda. Iran and Belarus have a history of good relations, and we believe that now we have very good opportunities, potential to intensify our cooperation and reach a new level,” Abolfazl Amouei said.

Iran strongly condemns sanctions against countries, he said. “During today's talks we saw that Belarus is also interested in promoting cooperation between our countries. We officially conveyed the invitation of the speaker of the Iranian parliament to the speaker of the House of Representatives to take part in the inauguration ceremony of the Iranian president,” the head of the working group added.
