MINSK, 14 April (BelTA) - Belarus and India are currently working on a number of new research projects, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Sergei Aleinik said as he spoke at a festive event to mark the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Republic of India and the Republic of Belarus on 13 April, BelTA has learned.
According to Sergei Aleinik, these research projects will be implemented within the framework of joint Belarusian-Indian programs. In his words, Belarus and India maintain vibrant contacts in scientific, technical and education cooperation.
The Belarusian first deputy minister of foreign affairs emphasized that the number of Indian students in Belarus increases every year. For example, some 1,000 Indian students, mainly medical ones, are studying in Belarus in the 2021-2022 academic year.
To mark the 30th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Belarus and India, the Embassy of the Republic of India in Minsk organized a concert “Journey through India and Belarus” at the Palace of Culture of Trade Unions. The event was attended by heads of diplomatic missions and international organizations, representatives of various ministries, government agencies, educational institutions, and the Indian diaspora.
