MOSCOW, 9 October (BelTA - TV BRICS) - Russian scientists have
created a bacterial strain and a corresponding vaccine for animals that
protects simultaneously against salmonellosis and colibacillosis,
reports the official website of the Russian Ministry of Science and
Higher Education.
For the first time in Russia, researchers developed a unique strain, which integrates a fragment of a plasmid containing the ecpABCD operon. Cells of the new strain produce specific proteins that stimulate the production of antibodies in animals, providing immunity to both pathogens.
“The team successfully translated industry needs into a scientific project and assembled a multidisciplinary group to implement it,” scientist Aleksey Deykin said.
The vaccine technology based on the new strain improves preventive efficiency, reduces production costs, and simplifies veterinary procedures for protecting poultry and livestock.
The vaccine has successfully passed trial testing and is now preparing for registration with the Russian Ministry of Agriculture.
