MOSCOW, 3 March (BelTA - TV
BRICS) - The informational and educational project “Modern Russian” of
the TV BRICS International Media Network has been named among the
winners of the International Competition "We speak, write, think in
Russian!", organised by the Moscow Union of Journalists. In the
“International Projects” nomination, humanitarian initiatives by
representatives of Egypt and France were also recognised. In total,
entries from nearly 30 countries worldwide were submitted to the
competition. Winners and diploma recipients were announced in eight
nominations.
“We are very pleased that the activities of the ‘Modern Russian’ project have been recognised by specialists of such a high professional level. The project carries out diverse activities in the field of practical philology: for 17 years we have been providing the public with emergency linguistic assistance, and journalists have always made up a significant proportion of users of this branch of the project. In addition, the project has long and productively promoted literacy among the population and contributes to broadening the linguistic horizons of people interested in the Russian language both in Russia and abroad. We thank the Moscow Union of Journalists for their attention to our work and hope for further fruitful cooperation with representatives of the journalistic community,” noted Tamara Skok, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Director of the Department of Innovative Linguistic Projects at TV BRICS and Project Leader of "Modern Russian".
The international informational and educational project “Modern Russian” was established in 2007 with the aim of promoting the Russian language, improving literacy levels among the population, and providing linguistic assistance. It is implemented by the TV BRICS International Media Network. In terms of its comprehensive range of practical philology activities, it has no analogues in Russia or abroad. The project’s information resources and advisory services are used in more than 150 countries worldwide.
The “Modern Russian” project has repeatedly become a winner of competitions at the federal level. It took first place in the All-Russian contest of intellectual projects “Derzhava” (founded by the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation, the Russkiy Mir Foundation, and the “Unity for Russia” Foundation). In the All-Russian Competition of PR Projects for the Preservation and Strengthening of the Russian Language in the Russian Federation, it received winner’s diplomas in two nominations simultaneously: “Best Communication Technique for Establishing Feedback with Target Audiences” and “Best Use of PR Tools”. It was awarded a diploma in the “Educational Programme” nomination of the annual Crystal Microphone Radio Broadcasting Award for the series of radio programmes “Entertaining Russian”. The project’s portal, “Modern Russian", won the competition of Russian educational internet resources on the Russian language.
The International Competition "We speak, write, think in Russian!" is held with the aim of promoting and strengthening the position of the Russian language as a tool of international and interethnic communication, as well as preserving the beauty and richness of the Russian language.
The awards ceremony for the winners and diploma recipients will take place in May 2026 in Moscow as part of the conference "Journalism of the XXI Century - Competition and Solidarity. The Russian language unites!".
