Belarus, Turkey discuss resumption of Turkish Airlines flights to Minsk

MINSK, 16 May (BelTA) – Belarus' Consul General in Istanbul Aleksei Shved has held a meeting with Ismail Öztürk, Turkish Airlines General Manager in Minsk, BelTA learned from the Belarusian diplomatic mission in Istanbul.

“During the meeting, the parties discussed a number of issues, including the resumption of regular flights of the air carrier to Minsk,” the Belarusian Consulate General informed.

A reminder, Turkish Airlines canceled flights from/to Minsk until 31 May 2022.

The year 2022 marks the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two states.

The Republic of Turkey became the first foreign state to recognize the independence of the Republic of Belarus. The diplomatic relations between the two countries were established on 25 March 1992. In 1992, the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey was opened in the Republic of Belarus, in 1997 - the Embassy of Belarus started working in Ankara. Honorary consuls of Belarus are deployed in Adana, Alania, Antalya, Bursa, Izmir.
