Belarus’ Dzianis Solotskikh wins silver at boxing tournament in Kyrgyzstan

MINSK, 1 May (BelTA) – The Belarusian boxer Dzianis Solotskikh took the second place at an international tournament in memory of Hero of the Soviet Union Duishenkul Shopokov, the republican center for Olympic training Stayki told BelTA.

The competition took place in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan. In the preliminary bouts in the weight category up to 55kg, Solotskikh defeated three athletes from the host country, but lost in the final bout to Damir Abdukadir from Kazakhstan. Boxers from Russia, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and China also took part in the tournament, competing for medals in ten weight categories. Belarus was also represented by Maksim Pankou, Vadzim Volchek, and Aliaksandr Radzionau.
