MINSK, 1 May (BelTA) – New standards for sport cooperation were developed at a meeting of sport ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states in Kyrgyzstan, the Belarusian Sports Ministry press service told BelTA.
A working group on sport was established at the conference in Cholpon-Ata. This body will function on a permanent basis and will enable the coordination of all sport events. Regulations were also approved on the SCO Open Cup, which will take place in various member countries throughout the year. On Kyrgyzstan’s proposal a unified SCO calendar will be created with the aim of forming a single calendar of sport events for all member states.
Belarusian Sports Minister Sergei Kovalchuk will hold a number of meetings with his counterparts to further advance cooperation in sport.
