Belarus, Russia approximate approaches in taxation

MINSK, 11 December (BelTA) - Belarus and Russia are approximating approaches in taxation, but are not seeking to copy each other, Belarus’ Deputy Taxes and Levies Minister Vladimir Mukvich said as he spoke at the conference “Taxes 2025: Review of Changes and Innovations in Tax Legislation", BelTA learned.

“Within the framework of the Union State, the parties are working on the convergence in many areas, including in taxation. Our countries are discussing and working out certain adjustments that bring these approaches closer. But we understand very well that there are many national peculiarities. Therefore, we are not seeking complete congruence. At the same time, we are working on the integration aspects that allow seamless interaction between business entities of Belarus and Russia,” Vladimir Mukvich said.

During the roundtable the parties considered further steps to develop electronic document flow between Belarus and Russia, problematic issues that arise in practice, and discussed systemic measures for 2025 for barrier-free exchange of electronic documents.

The conference also highlighted the main amendments to the Tax Code of Belarus, transition to the use of cash register equipment complying with the new requirements, and other matters.
