Belarus' export 2.1% down to $13.9bn in January-April

MINSK, 10 June (BelTA) – In January-April 2022 Belarus' export of merchandise and services dropped by 2.1% year-on-year to $13.953 billion, BelTA learned from the website of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus (NBRB).

In January-April 2022 Belarus' foreign trade totaled $26.644 billion, 3.3% down from the same period in 2021. Import amounted to $12.691 billion (4.5% down). Surplus of foreign trade in goods and services equaled $1,261 million, up from $970 million in January-April 2021.

Belarus' merchandise trade shrank by 2% to $22.331 billion. Merchandise export went down by 1.6% to $11.005 billion, with merchandise import down by 2.3% to $11.325 billion. Deficit totaled $320.2 million. In January-April 2021 Belarus had a deficit of $412.7 million.

In January-April 2022 foreign trade in services reached $4.313 billion, 9.5% down year-on-year. Export of services amounted to $2.947 billion (4.2% down), with import at $1,366 million (19.2% down). Surplus of foreign trade in services equaled $1,581 million, up from $1,383 million in January-April 2021.
