MINSK, 13 January (BelTA) – Two Belarusians were among top three at the women’s super sprint of the Russian Biathlon Cup on 12 January, BelTA has learned.
Hanna Sola won the event. Dzinara Smolskaya, who led in the final 7.5km mass start, made two penalties and finished 3rd. Russia’s Kristina Reztsova placed 2nd.
As for other Belarusian biathletes, Kseniya Varabei came in 8th, Irina Shakleina – 13th, Darya Kudayeva – 24th, Yelena Kulak – 26th. Mikita Labastau of Belarus wrapped up the top five in the men’s event.
The Sunday victory for Hanna Sola became her first in the current Russian Biathlon Cup. Belarusians won a total of four (2, 1, 1) medals at the stage in Ryazan. Dzmitry Lazouski won the men’s sprint, Anton Smolski finished second in the men’s pursuit.
The next stop for biathletes will be Demino, Yaroslavl Oblast of Russia that is set to host the fourth stage of the Commonwealth Cup on 15-20 January.
