Sabalenka out of Roland Garros

MINSK, 6 June (BelTA) – Belarus’ world number 2 Aryna Sabalenka lost to Russia’s world number 38 Mirra Andreeva, 7-6 (7-5), 4-6, 4-6, in the French Open quarterfinal, BelTA has learned.

Mirra Andreeva will next play Italy’s world number 15 Jasmine Paolini who saw off Kazakhstan's world number 4 Elena Rybakina, 6-2, 4-6.

World number one Iga Swiatek of Poland beat world number 6 Marketa Vondrousova of the Czech Republic, 6-0, 6-2 in the quarterfinal and will next play world number 3 Coco Gauff of the United States who defeated Tunisia's world number 9 Ons Jabeur, 4-6, 6-2, 6-3.

In the men’s quarterfinal Italy’s world number 2 Jannik Sinner proved stronger against Bulgaria’s world number 10 Grigor Dimitrov and is set to play Spain’s world number 3 Carlos Alcaraz. Another semifinalist, world number 7 Casper Ruud of Norway will next face Germany’s world number 4 Alexander Zverev.
