MINSK, 7 May (BelTA) - Belarusian athletes won seven medals at the Grand Prix Tashkent cycling competition in Uzbekistan, BelTA has learned.
On the second and final day of the tournament on 7 May, Palina Konrad claimed two victories, finishing first in the points race and the elimination race. In total, she took four gold medals from Tashkent. Before, Palina Konrad also won the scratch race and the omnium. Another Belarusian, Adelina Sakun, finished 5th in the points race and 4th in the elimination race. Alina Karotkina and Valeryia Stepanets also placed in the top 10 on the final day.
On 7 May, Belarusian Artsiom Barushkou won two bronze medals, finishing 3rd in both the points race and the elimination race. Daniil Mironau twice came close to a medal but missed out. Uladzislau Kauryha won silver in the scratch race. In total, Belarusian cyclists secured seven medals (4 gold, 1 silver, 2 bronze) at the Grand Prix in Tashkent. The competition was held under the auspices of the International Cycling Union (UCI).
