Electronic queues operational at all Belarus-EU border crossings

BREST, 7 May (BelTA) – The electronic queue system has been implemented at all Belarusian checkpoints at the border with the European Union, BelTA learned from Chairman of the State Customs Committee Vladimir Orlovsky on 7 May.

The electronic queue system is uniform across the country and covers all checkpoints. “Since 1 January 2026 a new system for remote registration in the electronic queue has been in development. This option is now available only for passenger cars. This service is widely used by citizens,” Vladimir Orlovsky emphasized. In his words, more than half of the users register in the system remotely. This can be done from home or from a car. Users can go to the border crossing after receiving the notification.
The customs service has also introduced an additional service this year. “If someone needs to cross the border in a hurry and cannot wait due to various reasons, they can book a priority passage. For a fee. But the service is in demand as well. Especially at the Brest checkpoint because it is the main direction to the European Union,” the chairman of the State Customs Committee said.

An updated waiting area was opened near the international road checkpoint Brest today. It has the capacity for 235 cars and 50 buses. The waiting area is fitted with charging stations for electric vehicles, automatic license plate recognition systems, roadside service facilities, sanitary blocks, and rest areas. There are 17 electronic displays to repeat information about what specific vehicles are invited to go to the checkpoint in order to cross the border.
Booking an entry date can be done on-site or online. It allows users to determine the exact day of the border crossing, reduce the time spent in the waiting area, and effectively plan both logistics and personal time.
