MINSK, 7 May (BelTA) - The memorandum of understanding between the government of the Republic of Belarus and the government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan on cooperation in labor and employment was ratified during a session of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus of the eighth convocation on 7 May, BelTA has learned.
According to Galina Belyayeva, a member of the House of Representatives’ Standing Commission on International Affairs, the ratification of the memorandum will create favorable conditions for direct cooperation between the relevant agencies.
According to her, it will also simplify the process of finding the necessary qualified personnel and facilitate more rapid exchanges of information on legislation and available vacancies, which in turn will contribute to more effectively addressing labor shortages in specific sectors of the country’s economy.
According to the MP, Belarus currently has 140,000 job vacancies, 60% of which are in blue‑collar professions.
Pakistani citizens are currently working in construction, food service, and trade. “The adoption of this memorandum will, in turn, help make the process of finding the necessary qualified personnel and the employment process more organized, more transparent, and subject to oversight by state authorities,” said Galina Belyayeva.
