Belarus win four medals at Heydar Aliyev U17 Junior Cup in Baku

MINSK, 7 May (BelTA) - Four Belarusian female athletes have become medalists at the international boxing tournament Heydar Aliyev U17 Junior Cup in Baku, BelTA learned from the press service of the Staiki National Olympic Center.

Belarus clinched one gold, two silver, and one bronze medal. Hanna Beliankova won gold in the under‑54 kg category. Aryna Kmita (up to 52 kg) and Darya Astapchyk (up to 63 kg) took second place in their respective weight classes. Vera Didenko (up to 63 kg) climbed to the third step of the podium. Milana Belyankina (up to 46 kg) and Elizaveta Kapyl (up to 57 kg) also represented Belarus.

A total of nine sets of medals were contested in the women’s division, while the men competed for honors in 14 weight categories. The Heydar Aliyev U17 Junior Cup in Baku brought together 185 boxers aged 17 and under from nine countries: Azerbaijan, Belarus, Russia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Latvia, Estonia, and Moldova.
