MINSK, 7 May (BelTA) – Belarus and Egypt have outlined the main areas of cooperation in exchange trade, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE).

Belarus and Egypt intend to boost cooperation in exchange trade by focusing joint efforts on several promising areas that will help increase bilateral trade and strengthen business ties between Belarusian and Egyptian enterprises. As reported, the agreement was reached by Chairman of the Board of the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange Aleksandr Osmolovsky and Egypt’s Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Mohamed Farid Saleh following the visit of the official Egyptian delegation to the BUCE headquarters in Minsk.

Further interaction between the parties will focus on three main areas. First and foremost, this involves attracting Egyptian companies to BUCE that are interested in export-import transactions with Belarusian economic entities. In addition, plans are in place to establish systemic cooperation between BUCE and the Egyptian Commodities Exchange regarding the exchange of pricing information, experience, and technological developments. Furthermore, to promote the exchange mechanism in Egypt, the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade will assist BUCE in organizing presentation and training events for Egyptian businesses in both online and offline formats.

For his part, Aleksandr Osmolovsky highlighted the potential for technology transfer between Belarus and Egypt. In particular, the software developed by BUCE can be adapted to the specifics and needs of the Egyptian market. This would expand the functionality of the Egyptian Commodities Exchange’s trading system and establish strong cooperative ties between the two electronic platforms.

“We are eager to share our advanced developments in exchange trading with our Egyptian colleagues. Our software products are easily customizable and, if necessary, can be used to organize trading for almost any commodity in any market. I believe that such interaction will serve as a good starting point for long-term cooperation between the exchange platforms of Belarus and Egypt,” the head of BUCE said.

“All necessary steps will be taken to intensify exchange cooperation between our countries in the areas identified today during the talks. Egypt and Belarus certainly have much to offer each other. Therefore, our coordinated joint efforts will yield mutual benefits and help realize the economic and trade potential of our nations more effectively,” Mohamed Farid Saleh emphasized.
