Gomel Oblast museum showcases stories of courage in women’s portraits

MINSK, 7 May (BelTA) – Ahead of 9 May, in the Year of the Belarusian Woman, the Gomel Oblast museum of the history of printing and photography has presented the project The Female Face of Victory: Preserving History Through the Lens of Women’s Lives, BelTA has learned.
The gallery showcases photographic portraits of women who took part in the Great Patriotic War, including former concentration camp prisoners, whose life stories embody extraordinary courage. Through the professional work of stylists and a photographer, the project seeks to capture “living history”. These strong and remarkable women, whose character and will to live became symbols of the heroism of the Belarusian people, stand at the heart of the exhibition.
Each photograph reveals the image of a woman at war, a guardian of memory. The project aims not only to honor the participants of the Great Patriotic War but also to foster in young people a sense of connection to a great and shared history.
