Foreign currency sales exceed purchases by $568m in Belarus in April 2026

MINSK, 6 May (BelTA) – In April, companies and individuals in Belarus sold $568 million more foreign currency on the domestic market than they bought, BelTA learned from the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus (NBRB). 

Individuals in Belarus remain net sellers of foreign currency. In April, they sold $228.1 million more than they bought. Belarusians bought the equivalent of $1.187 billion in cash and cashless forms and sold $1.415 billion worth of foreign currency.

The commercial entities were also net sellers of foreign currency. They sold $339.9 million worth of currency, which is more than they bought over the month. In April, legal entities bought $3.655 billion worth of foreign currency, sold $3.995 billion.

In January-April 2026, individuals sold $642.7 million net worth of foreign currency (compared to $237.7 million in the same period of 2025), while the net purchase by legal entities amounted to $216.5 million (in January-April 2025 $283.1 million).
