MINSK, 26 February (BelTA) - Belarusian athletes take pride in the emblem, anthem and flag of their country, said Olympic handball champion Andrei Barbashinsky, who was elected to the Executive Committee of the National Olympic Committee of Belarus at the NOC Olympic meeting in Minsk on 26 February, BelTA has learned.
“We have our own flag, emblem and anthem. Every athlete is proud of them. People who understand that are the patriots of their country who defend the honor of Belarus at the most prestigious international competitions. I had to compete under a neutral flag at the 1992 Olympics. I know what it means,” said the prominent former handball player.
