MOSCOW, 2 February (BelTA) - The Union State Young Scientists Award will be presented annually, State Secretary of the Belarus-Russia Union State Dmitry Mezentsev told journalists, BelTA has learned.
The state secretary noted that the decision to establish the Union State Young Scientists Award was taken at the Union State Supreme State Council meeting in St. Petersburg. He noted that unlike the Union State Award in Science and Technology, which is awarded to outstanding scientists every two years, the new award will be presented annually.
According to Dmitry Mezentsev, the prize money for young scientists will be RUB3 million. "The government [the Council of Ministers of the Union State] will determine how many prizes will be awarded every year, but we believe that there will be at least three," the state secretary added.
