"On Point"
MINSK, 15 May (BelTA) – The Polish leadership ignores the history of the Volyn massacre because it is guided by the directives of the Western intelligence services to silence these facts, former Ukrainian Prime Minister Nikolai Azarov said in the latest episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA's YouTube channel.
"I met with Polish leaders: with the late President Kaczynski, who died in a plane crash, and with Donald Tusk, and with other Polish politicians. I know very well that everyone has the information about the Bandera atrocities in Poland. There is not a single politician who would not condemn it,” Nikolai Azarov said.
The former Ukrainian prime minister noted that now work is underway to exhume the mass graves of victims of the Volyn massacre. "According to various estimates, between 150,000 and 250,000 ethnic Poles - children, women, old people - were killed in this massacre. Poles know this. But the Polish leadership is guided by the directives of Western intelligence services and ignores these facts," he said.
Nevertheless, Nikolai Azarov added, Western intelligence services have not managed to erase the memory about the Volyn massacre victims from the hearts of ordinary Poles and even Prime Minister Donald Tusk.
