Over 1,100 trucks queue up at Belarusian border to enter Lithuania

MINSK, 7 May (BelTA) – Over 1,100 semi-trailer trucks are in the queue to enter Lithuania, representatives of the Grodno regional customs house told BelTA.

The long queue has been caused by the unstable operation of software on the Lithuanian side. The Lithuanian customs service experienced a software breakdown on 4 May. According to the Lithuanian side, the operation of the software systems was restored as of 16:00 on 7 May.

However, the truck queue grew longer and longer as Lithuanian officials had to clear trucks by hand.

Over 530 trucks are queuing up to enter Lithuania at the border checkpoint Kamenny Log. Over 200 trucks are in the queue at each of the following border checkpoints: Privalka, Benyakoni, and Kotlovka.

Truckers are advised to bear the information in mind as they make their travel plans. The source noted that there are no truck queues at the Belarusian-Polish border in the responsibility area of the Grodno regional customs house.
