MINSK, 15 November (BelTA) – The West is using the refugee factor as an instrument of a hybrid attack on Belarus and Russia, Russian political scientist, Associate Professor Sergei Karnaukhov told the Belarus 1 TV channel, BelTA informs.
“We see the Western countries going to extraordinary lengths to make the most of the refugee factor for a hybrid attack on Belarus and Russia. The number of these refugees is very small. It is just a drop in the ocean. They could easily be assimilated and accepted by these states,” Sergei Karnaukhov said.
The political scientist recalled that the collective West is also to blame for the fact that these people became refugees. “Iraq, Syria, Libya - these refugees are coming from there. I would like to emphasize that Poland, Germany and other EU countries must accept and accommodate these people. They are to blame for the fact that these people became refugees and need help so badly. As to the use of the refugee factor in geopolitical pressure, it is clear that for the past two years the EU has been focused on destroying and attacking Belarus. Therefore, of course, they are using this factor. And sometimes it seems to me that even if only one refugee tried to cross the border, the European Union would treat it as such a big deal,” he added.
