BREST, 28 April (BelTA) – Belarus and Zimbabwe enjoy strong friendly relations, formally established by the leaders of the two countries, Deputy Minister for Women’s Affairs, Community, and Small and Medium Enterprise Development of Zimbabwe Kiven Mutimbanyoka told BelTA at the international business contact forum “First Region: Territory of Success” held in Brest on 28-29 April.
The business contact forum has become an important platform for exchanging views and discussing business conditions over the next two days. More than 100 participants from Europe, Asia, and Africa have gathered in Brest: representatives of ministries and agencies, heads of regional and sectoral business associations, and diplomats.
The Zimbabwean delegation is particularly interested in the small and medium enterprise program, as Zimbabwe has a similar initiative. “We want to exchange experience with the Belarusian side. This will open new opportunities for businesses in both countries. Belarus is an important partner for us,” Kiven Mutimbanyoka said.
Zimbabwe specializes in mining and agriculture, where Belarusian machinery, tractors and harvesters, is already being successfully used. The delegation intends to explore additional opportunities for supplies and cooperation. “We are part of one ecosystem. The key is our people, and together we can achieve better results,” he added.
The forum’s program includes a series of presentations, discussions on cooperation strategies, and the signing of agreements and contracts. Brest Oblast is always open to cooperation, the regional executive committee noted. The region accounts for 12% of the country’s GDP and nearly 13% of total industrial output. In 2025, its exports exceeded $5 billion for the first time.
