
MINSK, 24 June (BelTA) – Minsk hosted representatives of the Justice Ministries on 24 June, in the run-up to a meeting of the CIS Justice Ministers Council. The meeting participants discussed the preparations for the meeting of the Council which will be held in the Belarusian capital on 25 June, BelTA learned from the CIS Executive Committee.
The web-based event brought together representatives of the Justice Ministries of Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan,Uzbekistan, the Belarusian Notary Chamber, the Federal Chamber of Lawyers of the Russian Federation and the CIS Executive Committee.
The CIS Justice Ministers Council is expected to discuss further development of legal cooperation in the CIS, digitalization and transformation of the activities of the civil registry offices of the CIS nations and the development of a unified electronic information exchange system between the Justice Ministries of the CIS member states. Special attention will be devoted to ways of strengthening international cooperation in preserving historical truth and combating falsification of history and to the progress in the implementation of the decision by the CIS Heads of State Council “To declare 2027 the Year of Legal Education in the Commonwealth of Independent States”.
The 19th meeting of the CIS Justice Ministers Council will be chaired by Belarus’ Justice Minister Yevgeny Kovalenko.
