MINSK, 3 March (BelTA) - All tasks were completed at a high level, Belarus' Internal Affairs Minister Ivan Kubrakov said on the air of the First News TV channel as he commented on the internal troops readiness inspection, BelTA has learned.
Regarding the inspection of the readiness of internal troops units and some internal affairs bodies, which was ordered on 8 January with an emphasis on countering sabotage and reconnaissance groups, the test was passed successfully. All tasks were completed at a high level, Ivan Kubrakov said.
"This inspection took place after the holiday season when employees of internal affairs bodies and internal troops worked in an enhanced mode without days off, 12 hours or more per day. Despite such a workload, we still decided to test the internal troops in order to understand how the servicemen, including conscripts, would withstand the additional stress,” the minister said.
All the tasks were completed in full. “We primarily assessed the readiness of personnel, their endurance, and the performance of equipment, which the Commander-in-Chief has repeatedly emphasized. The president set a clear task: all units must be ready for unexpected situations at any moment. We simulated a variety of situations, including at the border, drawing on the experience of the special operation in Ukraine and on cases of mass riots in other countries. We took into account the need to refine special-purpose equipment and the tactics of special groups,” he explained.
In the near future, new theoretical and tactical exercises will be conducted in territorial internal affairs bodies with the participation of internal troops units. They will take place in every region, the minister noted.
