MINSK, 31 May (BelTA) - The official visit of the parliamentary delegation of the Republic of Belarus led by Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Natalya Kochanova to China has completed. The official delegation was seen off at the airport by Executive Vice Chairman of the China-Belarus High-Level Interparliamentary Cooperation Committee Huang Ming, BelTA has learned.
The program of the visit was extensive and rich. Meetings were held with Vice President of the People’s Republic of China Han Zheng, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of China Zhao Leji, President of the All-China Women’s Federation Shen Yiqin. The High-Level Committee for Cooperation between the Legislative Bodies of the Republic of Belarus and the People’s Republic of China held its first session. In addition, the Belarusian MPs visited social infrastructure facilities in Beijing.
“I will report to the president of our country on the results of the visit. I am sure that the meetings that took place will give a new impetus to even greater cooperation between our countries. It will bring us, parliamentarians, closer, and we will work together as one,” Natalya Kochanova said.
According to the speaker, Belarus and China have absolutely similar approaches. “Foreign and domestic policies are absolutely similar. People, their wellbeing come first. Our president values people most of all. We see the same in China,” the representative of the Council of the Republic stressed. “As far as foreign policy is concerned, we have always supported China and all the initiatives it puts forward. We support your aspiration to be a united China.”
