CIS Heads of Government Council to meet in Dushanbe on 5 June

MINSK, 25 February (BelTA) - The CIS Heads of Government Council is set to hold a meeting in Dushanbe on 5 June, CIS Secretary General Sergei Lebedev told the media on 25 February, BelTA has learned.

“Members of the CIS Plenipotentiaries Council are expected to discuss the proposals for the agenda of the upcoming meeting of the CIS Heads of Government Council in Dushanbe on 5 June,” Sergei Lebedev said. “As always, the agenda of the meeting of the CIS Heads of Government Council will focus on economic and humanitarian cooperation, finances. Today we are set to discuss the first proposals.”

“I would also like to praise the work of the CIS Plenipotentiaries Council, as each meeting is used to exchange views on topical issues of integration cooperation,” the secretary general said.

The CIS Plenipotentiaries Council is holding a regular meeting in the CIS Executive Committee in Minsk on 25 February. The plenipotentiaries are expected to discuss the Council's activities on cooperation in basic science in 2020-2024, the implementation of the roadmap for the initiatives expressed by the heads of delegations during the meetings of the CIS Heads of State Council, the CIS Heads of Government Council, the CIS Foreign Ministers Council and the CIS Economic Council in terms of cooperation in security. In addition, the meeting participants plan to consider proposals for the draft agenda of the next meeting of the CIS Heads of Government Council.
