Brest paratroopers demonstrate good results as part of Belarusian army’s inspection

BREST, 16 February (BelTA) – Units of the 38th Independent Guards Air Assault Brigade demonstrated good results as part of the army inspection, BelTA learned from Sergei Kuprik, Advisor to the State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus.

In line with the Armed Forces’ combat readiness inspection plan upon the decision of the head of state the 38th brigade was brought to the highest state of readiness on 10 February. Today is the final day for firearms training qualifications for a special forces unit. “The military personnel are busy doing qualification shoots from armored personnel carriers, using grenade launchers and assault rifles during the day and at night. On the whole, I can say with satisfaction that the units that have already done the qualifications have demonstrated good results. It goes without saying that we are glad about it,” Sergei Kuprik said. He added that the final result will be revealed after nighttime shooting.
The military personnel perform all the exercises using the hardware and the weapons they have been issued. Their theoretical knowledge, firearm training, and technical skills are getting checked. “It is understandable that a serviceman that doesn’t know how to shoot has no place on the battlefield. In order to be able to use weapons and hardware, the serviceman needs certain practical skills in addition to knowledge. Those are achieved through constant work on a daily basis and by spending time in the field,” explained the advisor to the state secretary of the Security Council of Belarus.
As part of the army inspection units of the 38th brigade passed an exam that measured the tactical and special skills, firearms training, and physical fitness of the personnel. “Results will be summarized once the army inspection is over. The shortcomings that commanding officers need to iron out may be briefly pointed out tomorrow. Respectively once all the results are summarized, a bottom line will be drawn by the inspection supervisor,” Sergei Kuprik concluded.
