Belarusian Parliament vice speakers sign book of condolence for late Myint Swe

MINSK, 12 August (BelTA) – Deputy Chairperson of the Council of the Republic Sergei Khomenko and Deputy Chairperson of the House of Representatives Vadim Ipatov visited the Consulate General of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in Belarus to sign the Book of Condolence following the passing of former Acting President and First Vice President Myint Swe, BelTA reports.

“On behalf of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus, we extend our deepest condolences on the passing of former Acting President of Myanmar Myint Swe,” Sergei Khomenko wrote. “Myanmar has lost an outstanding political and military leader, a true patriot. He contributed greatly to his nation and people, advancing country’s social and economic development and its global standing. In these difficult times, we offer our words of support to the family and loved ones of Myint Swe,” the message reads.
“Belarusian MPs were deeply saddened to learn of the death of Myanmar’s distinguished statesman Myint Swe. He was known for his dedicated service to the state and its people, pursuing policies that strengthened national unity, sovereignty and economic growth,” Vadim Ipatov said in his entry. “His exceptional leadership and personal qualities earned him deep respect both in Myanmar and beyond. We express our sincere condolences to the family of Myint Swe and the entire people of Myanmar during this difficult time.”
