
MINSK, 8 August (BelTA) – A memorandum of cooperation between the United Institute of Informatics Problems at the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (UIIP NASB) and Sharof Rashidov Samarkand State University was signed during the international forum Artificial Intelligence Technology Development in CIS Countries in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, BelTA reports citing UIIP NASB.
The agreement provides for the establishment of a joint laboratory for AI development, and also collaborative research, educational initiatives and exchange of scientific materials and expertise.
The forum brought together over 100 experts, researchers and IT industry representatives from CIS nations. During the AI Horizons foresight session, Sergei Kasanin, Deputy Director General of the Informatics Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, presented a report titled Development Trajectories and Horizons for AI Technologies in Belarus, outlining the country's key focus areas, objectives and long-term priorities in artificial intelligence.
