MINSK, 11 April (BelTA) - Belarus has helped secure the return of civilian hostages from Russia’s Kursk Oblast who were held in Ukraine. The handover took place on the Belarusian-Ukrainian border, BelTA has learned.
Tatyana Moskalkova, the Human Rights Commissioner of the Russian Federation, greeted the residents of Kursk Oblast as they returned from Ukraine, where they had been held as hostages in Sumy Oblast. She expressed immense gratitude to Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko. She also extended words of appreciation to all those who welcome both prisoners of war and civilians.

According to Tatyana Moskalkova, the atmosphere that has been created makes it possible to reach agreements with the Ukrainian side and to help people who find themselves in this situation after crossing the border. " "Today marks the 13th operation to bring back residents of Kursk Oblast. Of the seven people who returned, three are over 80, and one man is 91,” she said.
