Belarus counts on fruitful military cooperation with Iran

MINSK, 9 December (BelTA) – The Belarusian Defense Ministry anticipates fruitful military cooperation with Iran, Chief of the General Staff, First Deputy Defense Minister of the Republic of Belarus Pavel Muraveiko said at the third meeting of the Belarusian-Iranian commission on military cooperation. The meeting was held during the visit to Belarus of an Iranian military delegation led by Brigadier-General Mohammad Ahadi, Chief of Defense Diplomacy and International Relations of Iranian Armed Forces, BelTA learned from the Defense Ministry of Belarus.

The parties discussed the current state and future prospects for developing bilateral military cooperation and agreed upon a plan for joint activities for 2026.

Pavel Muraveiko emphasized readiness for comprehensive cooperation with the Iranian side. He stated: “I am confident that the activities included in the joint cooperation plans are just a small foundation upon which we can build greater cooperation, collaboration, and exchange of opinions. I am pleased to note that we have already achieved certain successes in the exchange of delegations from the Air Force and Air Defense, as well as in cooperation between special operations forces, engineering support, and medical training. And I am confident that this is not the limit, but only the beginning of our fruitful cooperation.”
