MINSK, 10 April (BelTA) – Chief Academic Secretary of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (NASB) Vasily Gursky and Strategic Director (Foreign Ministry) at the National Defense College of Oman Ali Sulaiman Said Al Darmaki discussed promising areas of bilateral cooperation on 10 April, including agriculture, strengthening food security, and training scientific personnel, BelTA learned from the NASB press service.
Vasily Gursky emphasized that thanks to the initiative of the leaders of the two countries, relations between Belarus and Oman are actively developing. He also noted that a Belarusian delegation, which included Deputy Chairman of the NASB Presidium Sergei Shcherbakov, recently visited Oman to develop bilateral cooperation. “Our cooperation is just beginning and will be beneficial for our countries and for science as a whole,” the chief academic secretary of the National Academy of Sciences said.
In turn, Ali Sulaiman Said Al Darmaki spoke of the high mutual interest, briefly mentioning the outcomes of the Belarusian-Omani business forum recently held in Muscat. He noted that he found the visit to the permanent exhibition of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus titled as Domestic Science Achievements for Industry to be very informative. “We are confident that our visit will be productive and will bring tangible benefits to our countries,” the head of the Omani delegation added.
