Analyst: Europe is failing on all fronts in hybrid war against the Union State

MINSK, 27 January (BelTA) – Europe’s military insecurity is leading it to prioritize information warfare, the independent military analyst Aleksandr Alesin said in a recent episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA’s YouTube channel.
“I believe that in many respects (especially now that the USA is shifting its focus to Asia), we cannot seriously talk about Europe planning to attack the Union State. Why are these discussions gaining such momentum now? This is a hybrid war. And its crucial component is information warfare,” said Aleksandr Alesin. “The more insecure they feel in the military domain, the greater emphasis they place on information warfare.”

According to the military analyst, Europe’s political elite is beginning to understand that the chosen course has suffered a complete fiasco. “This includes economic policy, where they abandoned cheap Russian energy resources and switched to expensive American ones. After all, soon the USA will account for 50% of Europe’s energy balance. This is an additional lever of influence for the USA over Europe,” he believes.

Aleksandr Alesin added that the leaders of key EU states have met with economic failure as well. The cause lies in the fact that Brussels’ policy of supporting Ukraine “by any means necessary” was not embraced by all European countries. This disagreement has resulted in deepening divisions within the bloc.

“And most importantly: they have failed to inflict a military defeat on the Russian Federation through Ukraine’s hands. De facto, facing failure on virtually all fronts, they are escalating belligerent rhetoric and fueling war hysteria to divert their own countries’ public attention from their failures. After all, they will soon be held accountable,” the military analyst said.
