"On Point"
MINSK, 25 April (BelTA) – Sergei Karnaukhov, PhD in Law, expert on security services, explained why Ukraine cannot be allowed to turn into a proxy state in a new episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA’s video channel.
The expert cited the example of Japan, which was stripped of its statehood after World War II. “Japan lost its state identity from that point on, it was put into a kind of sleeping proxy mode. It is a proxy nation biding its time. Technologies are advancing there, enormous amounts of money are being poured into the defense industry, but none of this is done openly. The country doesn’t threaten anyone – it is essentially asleep. And then, suddenly, since the start of the special military operation, Japan has been switching to a military footing: an almost mobilization economy, a people’s militia, a 360,000-strong army that was merely a reserve force is being turned into powerful armed forces. Fifth-generation jets, submarines. Why have they suddenly woken it up? What for? Ukraine is a sort of modern-day Japan. That is why we fully understand that if we leave this proxy territory, it will be put to sleep, placed into a state of hibernation,” he emphasized.
Sergei Karnaukhov recalled that when Russian forces advanced deep into Ukraine during the initial phase of the special military operation, a network of biolaboratories was uncovered there. “We reported on this at the international level. According to their plans, after a nuclear strike on Russia, birds were to be released that would infect the land and trigger an epidemic. This was Ukraine’s systematic effort – what was waiting for us in the near future if we had not started the special military operation,” he said.
The expert stressed that if Russia were to withdraw its troops now and leave Ukraine as it is, the country would turn into a proxy territory with nominal statehood, where nationalism would grow, along with a separate, crazed substitute religion, something like paganism that demands human sacrifice.
“This is not even the Middle Ages. This is a parallel reality that Western intelligence agencies are creating on Ukrainian territory. Biolaboratories will reappear there, and so will a powerful military-industrial complex, along with every cutting-edge military innovation,” Sergei Karnaukhov said. “And one day, this territory will be awakened and unleashed against us. We need to advance as far as possible into Ukrainian territory to deprive them of any opportunity for economic development, because we do not need a future proxy-Ukraine preparing for the destruction of Russia.”
