MINSK, 26 April (BelTA) – Head of the Belarus President Administration Dmitry Krutoi is on an official visit to the People’s Republic of China, BelTA reports, citing the Belarus President Administration.

The visit is taking place at the invitation of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, with the goal of advancing and giving practical substance to the all-weather, comprehensive strategic partnership between Belarus and China, as established by the leaders of both nations.

Dmitry Krutoi visited Xi’an, the capital of Shaanxi Province. The international logistics center in this central Chinese region is the starting point of the modern Silk Road. It coordinates freight flows on the China–Europe–China route that goes through Belarus and handles vast volumes of two-way cargo.

During negotiations with the management of this largest Chinese “dry port,” the head of the Belarus President Administration thoroughly explored opportunities to increase cargo flows in bilateral and transit traffic, building on the strengths of Belarusian Railways and the potential of the China-Belarus Industrial Park Great Stone.
In addition, a signing ceremony took place for a bilateral document between Eurasian Railway Gateway and Xi’an International Port Group, providing for the development of the Greatport rail container terminal currently under construction in the industrial park.
Strengthening interregional cooperation was the central focus of Dmitry Krutoi’s meeting with Zhao Yide, Secretary of the Shaanxi Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China. This region has been twinned with Mogilev Oblast since 2021. Drawing on the successful experience of Shaanxi companies as residents of the Great Stone industrial park, the parties explored opportunities to ramp up investment activity in Mogilev Oblast and throughout Belarus.

The sides noted the rapid pace of humanitarian cooperation: in 2018, the Center for Belarusian Studies was registered at Xi’an International Studies University, and a specialization in Belarusian language and culture was introduced.

Overall, Belarusian universities have signed agreements with five universities in Shaanxi Province. In 2025, the first overseas office of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus opened at Northwestern Polytechnical University.

Dmitry Krutoi also visited the Terracotta Warriors Museum in Xi’an, a national treasure of the People’s Republic of China and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the guest book, Dmitry Krutoi expressed his wish that, just like these warriors standing guard through the ages, the friendship between Belarus and China remain unshakable and immune to the passage of time.
