MINSK, 25 April (BelTA) – Belarusian rowers won two medals at the start of the 40th International Green Regatta Memorial Paolo d’Aloja in Italy, the press service of the Belarusian Sports Ministry told BelTA.
Tatsiana Klimovich and Alena Furman claimed victory in the women’s double sculls event on Lake Piediluco. The Belarusian duo covered the two-kilometer distance in 7 minutes 17.27 seconds, beating the silver medalists from France by just 0.03 seconds. The Greek pair rounded out the top three.
In the men’s single sculls, Yauheni Zalaty finished second, two seconds behind Serbia’s Nikolaj Pimenov. Lithuania’s Dovydas Nemeravičius took bronze.
The Green Regatta in Italy will conclude on 26 April.
