MINSK, 26 April (BelTA) – Zimbabwe actively advertises Belarusian products and promotes the joint expertise, Yuri Nikolaichik, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Zimbabwe, told the STV television channel, BelTA reports.

Both Belarus and Zimbabwe are under pressure from Western European sanctions, yet their cooperation enables them not only to survive but to advance by relying on their own expertise. “Belarus and Zimbabwe are actively countering Western economic coercion together. We work within the UN, the Non-Aligned Movement, and bilaterally. We are building a worldwide understanding of how unjust and illegal these measures are, and we are reorganizing our economic relations to ensure that sanctions do not interfere with our partnership,” noted Yuri Nikolaichik.

“The active exchange of visits in recent years, including at the highest level, has made it possible to establish a strategic level of cooperation and partnership between our countries, as laid out in the roadmap. This is a very important sign of the friendly relations between our leaders, governments, and relevant ministries, and also a key marker of Belarus’ presence in Africa. Zimbabwe has become the first country in Sub-Saharan Africa with which Belarus has achieved a strategic partnership,” the ambassador said. “Zimbabwe is the flagship in developing cooperation between our country and the African continent. And it is Zimbabwe, and personally President Mnangagwa, that actively advertises our products and actively promotes the experience we have gained: experience that is trusting, clear, and specific.”
