MINSK, 18 August (BelTA) - The Belarusian-Ukrainian border is heavily mined, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said in an interview with the Rossiya TV channel, BelTA has learned.
"The Belarusian-Ukrainian border is heavily mined. No previous wars saw such heavy mining. They [Ukrainians] themselves, as I was recently reported, explode on their mines. Because sometimes drunk people mine without maps. They lay minefields in violation of all norms and rules," the head of state said. "To cross the border there now - well, might be fraught with very heavy losses."
