Sergei Lebedev added that all matters have been agreed upon with the Kazakhstan’s side. "I hope everything will go in a smooth and organized manner. All items on the agenda have been agreed upon, and each of them is significant," he emphasized.

Minsk is hosting a joint meeting of the CIS Plenipotentiaries Council and the Economic Commission at the CIS Economic Council on 26 March. The participants of the event are set to discuss six issues. They include the draft agenda for the next meeting of the CIS Heads of Government Council, analysis of the preparations for the next meeting of the CIS Foreign Ministers council, implementation of the road map for the initiatives (economic cooperation) expressed by the heads of delegations during the meetings of the CIS Heads of State Council, the CIS Heads of Government Council, the CIS Foreign Ministers Council and the CIS Economic Council.

The meeting is also set to take stock of the activities of the CIS sectoral cooperation bodies in 2024. “The CIS countries and the CIS Executive Committee pay great attention to the work of sectoral bodies. There are 67 of them. On the initiative of a number of states, including Kazakhstan, this matter is supposed to be discussed at the upcoming meeting of the CIS Foreign Ministers Council. Today's meeting will serve as a sort of rehearsal," Sergei Lebedev added. "The sectoral councils are working actively. Most of them focus on economic, humanitarian, educational and security matters."

The joint meeting is expected to discuss the results of the work of the CIS Commission on Peaceful Uses of Atomic Energy in 2021-2024. It will also review the progress of the action plan for 2023-2025 to implement the memorandum on deepening interaction between the CIS Executive Committee and the Eurasian Economic Commission.
