MINSK, 18 October (BelTA) - Good, friendly relations have been established between Belarus and China, Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Natalya Kochanova said as she met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Belarus Zhang Wenchuan on 18 October, BelTA has learned.
“Very good, friendly relations have been established between our countries and we are sincerely proud of and cherish the friendship with China. This is of great value for us. Of course, this is largely thanks to the relationship that has been developed between the leaders of our countries – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko and Chinese President Xi Jinping. Today we are talking about an all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership. This is really great,” Natalya Kochanova said. “We note with great pleasure that the political relations between our countries are really good. When Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Li Qiang visited our country in August 2024, Aleksandr Grigoriyevich [Lukashenko] set a task to bring our economic cooperation to the level of political one. Indeed, this task is very important for us.”

Mutual trade shows good dynamics. “We are sincerely pleased that today the trade between our countries has almost reached $8.5 billion. Of course, we need to continue working very actively in all these areas. We as MPs will do everything possible to ensure that our comprehensive cooperation keeps developing effectively between our countries,” the speaker emphasized.
