MINSK, 28 September (BelTA) – On the sidelines of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Maksim Ryzhenkov has met with Bassam Sabbagh, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Syrian Arab Republic, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“The foreign ministers of Belarus and Syria discussed projects to rebuild Syria's infrastructure and economy, rehabilitation programs for Syrian children in Belarus, mutual support in international organizations, and the situation in the region,” the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.
Until recently, Bassam Sabbagh held the post of Deputy Foreign Minister, and before that he worked as Permanent Representative of the Syrian Arab Republic to the United Nations.
