MINSK, 7 April (BelTA) – Belarusian First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Lukashevich met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Arab Emirates to the Republic of Belarus Ibrahim Al Musharrakh on 7 April, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The parties discussed the current situation in the Middle East, as well as issues of bilateral cooperation between Belarus and the United Arab Emirates. The parties expressed concern over the ongoing deterioration of the situation in the Middle East region and noted the importance of an early cessation of hostilities.
Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Belarus and the United Arab Emirates were established on 20 October 1992. The Belarusian Embassy in the UAE began its work in December 1999. The UAE Embassy was opened in Minsk in October 2008.
