MINSK, 25 June (BelTA) – The international situation was discussed at the talks between Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Aleinik and his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov who was on an official visit to Belarus on 24 June, BelTA has learned.
“Sergey Lavrov and I have discussed the international situation primarily from the prism of achieving common goals related to normalization,” the foreign minister noted. “We put forward realistic initiatives for the peaceful resolution of the Ukraine crisis, for developing a new security system in Greater Eurasia, and promoting mutually beneficial non-discriminatory cooperation in equal formats,” emphasized Sergei Aleinik.
He thanked his Russian partners for their support of Belarus’ initiative to develop a Eurasian Charter for Diversity and Multipolarity in the 21st Century - a comprehensive document that might lay out parameters and principles of the security architecture in the Eurasian space and a strategic vision of multipolarity and multilateralism of the updated system of international relations.
“This is a specific, workable and unifying initiative, and we invite everyone to discuss it,” the foreign minister of Belarus said.
