St Barbara's Church in Vitebsk

The small stone Roman Catholic Church of St. Barbara was built in Vitebsk in 1785. The red towers of the Baroque specimen on Leningradskaya Street can be seen from afar when entering the city.

Today the church of the 18th century is one of the most interesting landmarks among the numerous architectural sights of Vitebsk, one of the oldest cities of Belarus. It is included in the state list of historical and cultural heritage of Belarus.
The Church of St. Barbara is a three-nave basilica with two-tiered towers on its facade. Vitebsk is proud of such a historical heritage, which is considered a unique example of Belarusian architecture. The church looks graceful, with its brick walls pointing to the sky. Majestic and solemn, the church blends perfectly into the urban landscape.
