Plans to reform accounting, reporting system in state administration sector in Belarus

MINSK, 12 February (BelTA) – The national system for accounting and reporting in the state administration sector will be reformed. The concept of the reform and the relevant plan of action have been approved by the Council of Ministers' resolution No.82 of 9 February 2019, BelTA has learned.

The key purpose of the reform is to improve the quality and transparency of information about the financial state and performance of state administration sector organizations.

The concept provides for working out and introducing a uniform chart of accounts integrated with the budget classification. The chart of accounts will be introduced in two stages. During the first one the uniform chart of accounts will be used by individual government agencies and other public sector organizations as a pilot project. During the second stage uniform charts will be introduced into the day-to-day operation of all the state administration sector organizations, which are classified as state-financed organizations.

Building up the human resources potential is one of the key factors in implementing the concept in an effective manner. Work to improve the qualification of specialists will be arranged taking into account the maximum number of students, minimized education time, and justified costs to secure results.
