MINSK, 3 April (BelTA) – Kazakhstan is one of the promising markets for Belarusian meat products, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Kazakhstan Aleksei Bogdanov said at the opening of the 9th International Forum Belarus’ Meat Industry, BelTA has learned.
Kazakhstan’s food segment is growing steadily. The country is building up its own production capacities and importing a wide range of foodstuffs, including poultry, cattle, pork, horse meat, canned goods, and sausages.
In 2024, the bilateral trade exceeded $1 billion, with Belarus’ exports being estimated at about $900 million, of which food supplies accounted for around 30%. “We have huge potential for ramping up the supply of our products and expanding their range. The Belarusian meat producers exporting to Kazakhstan the most are the Brest and Grodno meat processing plants,” said Aleksei Bogdanov.
He urged producers to obtain the Halal mark and establish cooperation with large networks. The ambassador invited enterprises to take part in international food exhibitions in Kazakhstan to showcase their products to Kazakhstani businesses and local residents.
“Kazakhstan is a very interesting and promising market for our producers. At the same time, loyalty and consumer trust in Made in Belarus products are very high. We must make every effort to cave in a niche in all market segments. This includes finished products made from poultry and beef, canned goods, semi-finished products. It is also worth paying attention to baby food,” said Aleksei Bogdanov.
The 9th International Forum Belarus’ Meat Industry is running in Minsk on 3-4 April. The key theme of the forum is the sales margin. The event brought together meat manufacturers, government officials, heads of retail chains, packaging and equipment suppliers, experts in new technologies and promotion, researchers, etc. The program includes discussions, tastings, exhibitions, round tables, master classes, surveys, presentations and B2B talks.
