Karic opines on business climate in Belarus

MINSK, 7 December (BelTA) – Belarus' Honorary Consul in Belgrade, Chairman of the Serbia-Belarus Friendship Group in the Serbian Parliament Dragomir Karic gave his take on the situation in Belarus and the country's business climate as he talked to reporters, BelTA has learned.

“I will leave for Serbia now. Usually, when I show up in the parliament they ask me (I have many friends): “Dear Dragomir, how are things there? They ask with apprehension. I say: “Relax, dear! Everything is fine there. Of course, it is fine.”

“If you want to learn what Minsk is living and breathing, take a taxi, go to a hairdresser, talk to a waiter and you will find out everything,” Dragomir Karic recommended.

He emphasized that he always tries to convey the truth to his compatriots: “Minsk is a clean city. In general, your country today is white [snow-covered], beautiful, authentic.”

Dragomir Karic also answered a question about how he assesses the business climate in Belarus. “Mr Lukashenko and your government have created an inclusive business environment for everyone. Many Western companies work here as well. Of course, today it is done not directly, but through other countries, but they operate here. In fact, business is like water: you can never stop it, and it will find its way. So it is fine to work here,” he said.

In general, the Serbian parliamentarian and businessman emphasized that he has known Belarus since the times of the USSR, he participated in various projects, and throughout all this time relations between the countries have always been good. And this time he also conveyed greetings from the Serbian leader to the Belarusian head of state. “They maintain normal contacts with each other,” Dragomir Karic said.
