GRODNO, 25 April (BelTA) - Business from both Belarus and Poland is open to dialogue, Miroslav Sarosek, Director General of the Grodno branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelCCI), told journalists at the dialogue platform that discusses the realities and prospects of Belarusian-Polish cooperation as a basis for interregional cooperation at the present stage, BelTA learned.

“Despite certain circumstances, business of the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Poland continues to interact. This interaction is quite active. Joint investment projects in various industries continue, for example, in construction, wood processing, logistics, petrochemical industry. There are a number of promising areas, especially in the logistics sector. We understand very well that today business is waiting for appropriate decisions by certain political circles of the neighboring country that will make logistic chains, transport opportunities, cargo flow and movement of funds simpler. This will create a good enough positive background for our businessmen, our business communities to pick up pace,” Miroslav Sarosek said.
He noted that the Polish-Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Izba Handlowa is a reliable partner of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the Republic of Poland. “Within the purview of its capabilities and powers it provides assistance in facilitating contacts with business, providing visa support, networking and implementing investment projects. We believe that this interaction will only become stronger and develop more dynamically,” Miroslav Sarosek said.

“The examples that I mentioned testify to the fact that the business community is very hopeful. The experience within the framework of the business councils of our chambers of commerce and industry testifies to this and confirms that business both in Belarus and Poland is open to dialogue. They are waiting for a wider opening of borders and more opportunities for cooperation than we have today,” Miroslav Sarosek added.
With a view to intensifying Belarusian-Polish cooperation, establishing new contacts and renewing the existing ones between business of the two countries, the Grodno Oblast Executive Committee with the support of the Association of Polish Business in Belarus organized a dialogue platform to discuss the realities and prospects of Belarusian-Polish cooperation as a basis for interregional cooperation at the present stage.
